Mountain Chalet - Del Fabbro
A contemporary refuge among the peaks, shaped by alpine soul and refined design

Moodboard dal cuore montano

There are places that evoke a deep sense of stillness, where landscape and architecture engage in a perfect dialogue. This mountain chalet is one of them, an existing structure thoughtfully reinterpreted through a contemporary and refined design language. Transformed from a private holiday home into a welcoming retreat for guests, the project preserves the authentic alpine identity of the site while enhancing it through innovative material choices and an essential aesthetic.

A design attentive to the soul of the building
The design follows a clean, disciplined approach, employing modern materials that enhance the original architecture without betraying its spirit. Interiors were conceived to offer an immersive connection with the surrounding landscape, using neutral tones and carefully curated details to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

The kitchen expresses a refined balance between functionality and aesthetics. Warm grey surfaces are paired with contrasting recessed handles, introducing rhythm and character to the space. The table, defined by a simple, traditional form, is elevated by an engraved motif inspired by dandelion seeds, an understated yet evocative tribute to the surrounding nature.

Materials in dialogue with nature
The intimate living area is a secluded space where nature takes center stage. Here, a window becomes a living artwork, framing the landscape in a perspective that shifts with the changing seasons. The sofa, with its contemporary lines and earthy tones, engages harmoniously with the alpine materials that define the interior.

Light and materiality
On the upper floor, the sleeping area is conceived to emphasize the verticality and tactile presence of the wooden roof structure. A long corridor becomes a scenographic pathway thanks to lighting by Davide Groppi: an endless line of light runs through the space, enhancing the natural grain of the ceiling and creating a striking sense of depth. The minimalist, suspended bed appears to float in the dim light, amplifying the feeling of lightness and calm.
A contemporary alpine retreat where luxury is measured not in excess, but in the quality of space, and in its ability to welcome, move, and inspire.
